Community center Montovjerna

Preliminary design for the community center.

The project brief required an examination of the possibilities for the community center with an underground garage, next to the existing sports field.

Selected layout arranges required facilities into two structures that flank the longitudinal sides of the sports field, integrating the stands into the volume of the buildings.

The sports field is isolated from the surrounding facilities, while simultaneously creating a unique public space that expands laterally from the sports field, over the stands to the roofs of the buildings.

Within the buildings, there are spaces for the Dubrovnik Library branch, accompanying facilities of the sports field, and a multifunctional space for the local community.
